"Misleading Titles Can Be Very Aggravating" according to kathy jones. Occasionally I run into a book that is so obviously fabricated completely from "Boilerplate" that I get almost angry. This is one of these books. The formula for this book is simple; Take a basic text on how to start a small business and substitute the word "Welding" for "Small" in your word processor. There is no mention of what tools one will need for a small welding business, or what amperage range of portable welder you will need. The tone and language used in this book are NOT directed at the kind of person who would start a Welding Business. There. "They've obviously never met a welder" according to Crash. Just picked it up from the library. Pretty worthless book. The guys who wrote it obviously never talked to a welder or a weld shop. Like the other angry guy said it's just a generic small business book with the word welder thrown in to get you to buy it. It's filled with dumb tasks in marketing that show these guys don't understand the welding industry or its customers. The sections on that are supposed to be welding specific are so general that they are useless. I don't even think it was that good as a small business book. Oh yeah the book is thin and. Very Thorough - Came Quickly and Good Value Jo M - Tulsa Have just started going through this book. Appears to be a textbook or workbook style book. Very easy to read and great charts to help with budgeting and some of the specifics that make a welding company different than most manufacturing businesses.
