DESCRIPTION:
The Crandell's provided a secure, loving home in a safe community that they hoped would insulate them from the trouble they experienced. This can happen to anyone, anywhere. There are no safe boundaries for drug addiction. I. What Christy attributed to normal adolescent angst was indeed something much more serious. Its a must read for every parent. She failed to recognize the warning signs of drug abuse. After suffering through the pain of her teenage sons drug addiction and ultimate arrest for armed robbery, Christy Crandell started on a mission to educate parents about the warning signs she missed. Her story is riveting and the lessons are important
Must read for all parents! Touching true story of a young man who's addiction to drugs resulted in a 13 year prison sentence. This family has risen above the tragedy with remarkable strength and a desire to help others prevent the same kind of tragedy from happening in their own families.. "A Helpful Guide" according to Rocklin Teacher. As a high school teacher who had the young man profiled in this book, I found it to be very enlightening into the dangers too many people fail to see, both in education and outside education. Mrs. Crandell, with the help of Cynthia Cutts, bares her soul and reveals intimate details in order to sound the clarion for others. Her personal anecdotes are illuminating, but the more substantive portion of the book is the concrete advice regularly sprinkled through these anecdotes in the form of "I wish I'd known" information boxes. These, combined with the "Drug Charts & FAQs" at the back of the book. Lost & Found Is For Every Parent You'll want to read Lost & Found in one sitting because it captures you from the beginning. This book is both heart-breaking and uplifting since Christy shares the story of her son, Ryan, and how they hope his experience will help other teens and parents. It is a sobering look at teen drug use and how most adults are unaware of how many teens are involved. My favorite part of the book is the "I wish I'd Known" sections that give facts, resources, answers and advice for parents of all teens. I definitely recommend Lost & found to all parents and people who work with teens.
