Delightful and informative book Philliesfan This is a delightful book! Not only does it tell a warm and wonderful story about two remarkable women; it also sets their narrative in a historical context with regard to what was going on in the state and the nation as the sisters lived their colorful lives. These ladies rose to significant heights in their chosen professions despite being victims of gender discrimination, blazing a path for other women while at the same time contributing substantially to the world around them. I do not usually read biographies because I never feel that a true picture is painted of the subject. In this case, however, I make an exception. The author evidently forged a bond with these ladies which allowed him to not only convey their amazing life story but to do it in their own voice. I've never lived in or near Atlanta, GA and many of the landmarks mentioned in the book are foreign to me; however, I could picture the city and the town of Temple as I read the account of their facinating lives.
