DESCRIPTION:

A Better Brain I finished Brain Fitness for Women last week. I really enjoyed it. I learned so much (Omega 3!) and was totally captivated by the format. Sondra's writing style (very funny), mixed in with a lot of facts presented in differing ways, made for a very, very interesting read. A huge amount of research was available and the coverage provided real depth for my understanding. I haven't read many self-help books, but this book is most informative and very nicely paced. I think I have a better brain ju. Fantastic Research, Well Presented Sondra Kornblatt writes beautifully. She distills complex science into information you can apply right away. This is an author I keep tabs on -- look for the first book "Restful Insomnia". You won't be disappointed.

She is a health writer living in Seattle, WA.. Sondra Kornblatt is the author of A Better Brain at Any Age and Restful Insomnia

She examines how hormones, the environment, exercise, stress, food, aging, and even friendship affect the brain, and offers strategies for keeping your brain on its metaphorical tiptoes at any age.. Did you know that women have 70,000 thoughts per day and one person's brain generates more electrical impulses each day than all the telephones in the world combined? In Brain Fitness for Women, health writer Sondra Kornblatt offers an entertaining look at how women's brains work: the physiology of women's brains, new research in neuroscience, the differences between women's and men's brains, and how women's brains age. Kornblatt offers fun facts (yep, that chocolate you're craving does boost cognitive function), tips (your brain wants a glass of water in the morning), and advice (forget multitasking, the brain can only process one thing at a time) for women who want to keep their minds in tiptop shape

"A must read. This book busts all the myths about the brain (e.g. memory is supposed to fail as you get older) and replaces them with solid science, great humor, and a completely accessible writing style that will keep you reading from beginning to end." -Christiane Northrup, M.D., ob/gyn physician and author of the New York Times bestsellers Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom and The Wisdom of Menopause
