Fabulous story! J. Newton I'm not one to write the story out, I perfer to discuss the writing style. SE Jakes weaves a fabulous story that grips from page one. The main characters, Tanner and Damon, are engrossing and have depth. As a reader you WANT to know more about them and SEJ delivers. The loves scenes are emotionally written. The angst of both characters is realistic and believeable. Not once did I think a two minute conversation would clear the air between these two. Their internal conflicts and resolutions - perfect. There's a bit of bondage play, the sex is hot, but it doesn't it get in the way of the STORY. This is truly a great romance. I highly recommen. Barks Book Nonsense said Emotional & hot. Two strong men fight their growing desire for each other in a story fueled by grief, guilt, lust and eventually love. This book is intense, hot, emotional and impossible to put down. Great stuff and I can't wait for the sequel featuring LC and his messed up love life.. Real Angst, Real Love This is just the sort of m/m romance I love - a hot, emotional story between two alpha males. The angsty beginning drew me right in, and the story was intensely emotional throughout. I loved Tanner and Damon both - they were strong, believeable characters and their relationship managed to be romantic without being sappy or overly-sentimental, despite the challenging content (the death of a friend/lover as well as other tragedies and hardships I don't want to spoil for anyone who hasn't read the book yet).
