DESCRIPTION:
Though there are only four basic types of valves, there is an enormous number of different kinds of valves within each category, each one used for a specific purpose. No other book on the market analyzes the use, construction, and selection of valves in such a comprehensive manner. They are used extensively in the process industries, especially petrochemical. -Covers new environmentally-conscious equipment and practices, the most important hot-button issue in the petrochemical industry today-Details new generations of valves for offshore projects, the oil industry's fastest-growing segment -Includes numerous new products that have never before been written about in the mainstream literature. Valves are the components in a fluid flow or pressure system that regulate either the flow or the pressure of the fluid
Five Stars Erik Todd Useful handbook.. A Customer said Valve Selection Made Easy. This book was very instrumental in the selection of a valve for the use in a special application. The mechanics involved in each of the valve applicability are well explained. It is also helpful in pressure drop calculations when the use of the valve at a specific part of a process is necessary. It provides a wide range of valve types and has well illustrative figures for understanding the way the valve operates. It also has good explanation for the packing materials used in the different type of valves. It is good for a novice and professional alike.. "Efficient handbook" according to A Customer. An excellent book to whom day after day needs to specify safety and relief valves as ball, globe and butterfly ones. This book also reserved a chapter dedicated to rupture discs.
Grossel, PresidentThe Valve Selection Handbooko is intended to aid professionals in the selection of valves based on application and design parameters. This book has been written to provide the Piping Specifying Engineer assistance in the selection of valves for a specific application and that meet the design parameters of the process service. The fifth edition has added new material including chapters on actuators, valve-locking devices, double block and bleed ball valves and a glossary of valve terminology. - Chemical Engineering, Nov. Smith, and it is based upon the original text (with some subtle changes) written by Mr. 2004 . Thie book is organized into ten chapters, each focusing on a different aspect of Valve technology - such as valve selection criteria and valve actuators - or a specific type of valve-suc
