The Shadowboxing plot is intriguing in concept, but falls short in the implementation. 2.5 stars. I enjoyed the history, intrigue and descriptive narrative in this book. I love books that take us to historical locations that have been significant in our worlds history. Within this setting there is a real sense of a struggle to survive not just for those who lived in those perilous times but for the characters in this book. Both Kristopher and Michel's story within this story kept me coming back for more as their journey together and struggles unfolded.I .
