Scott This winter, I had the pleasure and honor of teaching a class entitled Ethical and Legal Aspects of Addiction Counseling to students in the alcohol and drug studies course at Loyola Marymount University. I choose the book “Ethics for Addiction Professionals” because of the books I read in preparing for the class, I found this one to be the most comprehensive and well organized. I loved the emphasis on counselor wellness as an integral part of ethics. The students loved the personable nature of the book. As one student said: “It felt like she was talking directly to us!” I am recommending Dr. Berton&rs. "Much needed great book!" according to Ann Q. Crane. There is little written to educate counselors, therapists, and MD's on the ethics for addiction professionals. The is a very clear well written guide to the ethics all therapy professionals need for their education. This is a book which should be part of every therapy training program. Great job, Dr. Berton!
