Great book/poorly printed Robert E. Miller The content of the text and the lovely boats shown in the line drawings make this book worth having. As stated by another reviewer, however, the quality of the print is poor. The abundant lettering and handwritten numbers on the lines drawings, and on the construction drawings, are for the most part unreadable. This makes studying these drawings rather frustrating.. He revised and expanded the essays from the original edition and added over 30 more boats, many never before published, and even a few dream ships that were never built, all combined and brought together in this volume. Garden's writing style is just as far-ranging and eclectic as his boats, whimsical and informative, light-hearted yet solidly grounded, serious, thought-provoking and thoroughly engaging. Garden's career as both a yacht designer and builder spanned well over six decades and untold hundreds of boats – s
This is a feast for fans of Garden's legendary style, delightful writing and vision of what boats should be. -- Robert Hale, 2001
