The perforated paper parts are easy to remove from the printed page without further assistance; e.g., razor cutter, etc. Be advised, you will need a quick drying paper glue and patience. Yes, this book has helped my grandson practice . Perfect for our 10 yo train enthusiast Mom of 5 Perfect for our 10 yo train enthusiast. Beautifully illustrated. Directions are adequate.
