DESCRIPTION:
Not only was it filmed four times, but Orson Welles adapted it into a radio presentation. German-born Curt Siodmak is perhaps best known for his cult classic sci-fi and horror movies, such as The Wolf Man and Son of Dracula. A gifted writer, screenwriter, and director, Siodmak recently received the Commander's Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Wolf Man's Maker describes how this writer, through the genres of sci-fi and horror, created stories which reflected this historical perspective and his search for a truth which affects all of his viewers.. This outstanding writer, one of the founding members of the Writers Guild of America, has also written 26 novels, in English and his native language. In his autobiography, he recalls
"Scattered, but fascinating" according to David E. Hintz. Despite the title, this book covers a lot more than just the authoring of old Universal Studios screenplays. Curt Siodmak has strong opinions and can't help but mention them at any point in his story (even if he repeats himself a bit). Sort of a raw, stream of consciouss style with a bit more discipline than that. A really good read, covering WWII Europe, Hollywood, and the brothers Siodmak.. Three Stars pretty good but know its depressing.
(Film Review) . Wholly engrossing, this easily ranks along side Michael Powell's landmark A Life in Movies as one of the great movie memoirs
Before his death in September, 2000, Curt Siodmak held a masters degree in mathematics and was one of the founding members of the Writers Guild of America. . He started his remarkable career as a writer in the late 1920s in Berlin
