"Great book" according to R. L. Whittington. This is a great book about how the suit and other menswear came about. If you are interested in the cultural contexts fo clothing then this is the book. The writing style was very intertaining as well, I read it in one sitting it was so good.. The essay refers to a dozen or so images. If you are even passingly aware of the history of men's clothing since the early 19th century, you will find no new insight. "The dog loved it!" according to Yorghos Carabas. Well, I never managed to read it, my dog ate it. I'll keep it in mind for a future purchase and remind myself to put it a bit higher up. It's far too delicious to be left on a coffee table.
