Gina Marks said Wow.. As a shiatsu practitioner of seven years, it was incredibly illuminating to read more of the back story of the origins of this fairly modern modality. I'm sure it's a bit controversial, but that in itself indicates that there's far more complexity than the usual, 'like acupuncture, only using fingers' definition so many of us have come to give. Akinobu Kishi is an internationally-renowned teacher and master of Zen Shiatsu. She began her training in 1991, meeting Akinobu Kishi in 1998, and has worked closely with him ever since. His formal training took place at Tokujiro Namikoshi s Japan Shiatsu College and at the Iokai Centre in Tokyo with Shizuto Masunaga, the father of Zen Shiatsu. Alice Whieldon is a shiatsu practitioner and teacher as
