Opened My Eyes K This is a brutally honest book about how one man became embroiled in sexual addiction and fought hard to escape it. I was taken by surprise at the transparency of this couple because sexual addiction has so much shame (for both the man and the woman) attached to it, that their courage in sharing it was amazing. As the wife of a sexual addict, this book really opened my eyes to the absolute grip of the compulsion that a sexual addict faces. I guess I never fully realized the full force of this compulsion and how the addiction isn't really about sex; but rather ab. Now Choose Life I wasn't sure about this book when I bought it. Curious I guess whether someone could write an objective book about this subject. When I got the book I starting reading and found it hard to put down. Janet Wheeler did an excellent job of tying together Bruce's comments and a clinical appraisal to his problem. I finished the book in ONE DAY.By the time I finished I not only thought I knew both Bruce and Janet but also found myself wanting to meet these two exceptional people. It must have been very difficult, and risky, for Bruce to be so honest, not only with hi. If your secerts are haunting you, this is a must read! After reading Now Choose Life!, I wish that any men or women that are secretly hiding their thoughts, feelings and actions from their loved ones could read this book. No longer do people need to be alone. No longer does anyone need to keep their secrets. Bruce's' experiences from early childhood up through his recovery provide an amazing tool for understanding ourselves in our own addiction. His testimony, along with his wife's interpretation of the reality of the disease of sexual addiction and how it affected them, can unlock doors for people who already know
