Horse As Teacher artzy My path crossed this book at a very challenging time in my life. I had just "lost" a horse love of mine at a rescuethis love was adoptedunfortunately the rescue I volunteered at didn't allow me to say byeas a veteran with ptsd, my time at the rescue was on and off, however, I bonded with this horse and contributed financially to this horse and when I was gone from the rescue for almost a month due to medical reasons, I came backeager to see this horse because this horse gave me hope and was my reason for wakingwell, I went to the pasture . A connection to your true self. I loved the stories in this book. I've learned about a new way for a person to connect with the universe and to be authentically who they really are. The more a person tries to confront the world with their ego and willpower to achieve certain goals, the more these things seem to recede from being realized.Horses are able to pick up on things about a person that they are not presently aware of. They can lead him/her to jettison the masks and behaviors that have become obstacles to realizing what is desired most in life.. Fun, touching, spiritual -- a great read! S. Louis This book has benefited me in innumerable ways. Horse As Teacher takes you on a ride, often humorous, yet touching something deep inside you. These strong, spiritual women ask themselves profound questions, which I turned and asked myself. Mary Beth Meyers writes, "Had I been riding to my own dream, or the illusion of a dream that belonged to someone else?"As my friend said as she was inhaling this book, "Everyone who loves horses should read this book!"
The authors come from a variety of horse backgrounds, but there is a common thread --- they all see the simple truth that these magnificent animals, through their presence and grace, can raise our consciousness, peel back the layers to uncover our true selves, and show us how to shine with brilliance.. The stories in this collection will move you to tears, make you laugh, remind you of your first brush with love (in the form of a horse), and most important, connect you with your soul; because that's what horses can do when you are willing to embrace what they so naturally and beautifully reveal to you
