Adequate but not sufficiently technical This book is a nice review of existing hoisting technology, but anyone with a structural engineering education will prefer a more technical and thorough approach. Would like to see more information on wire rope types, wire rope inspection, rope stretching and creep, and cable analysis.. Professional rigging handbook Michael A. Duvernois Sure you can use a crane without a 700+ page book, but this is the go-to reference for professional rigging work. It's well organized, well written, and authoritative. There are a lot of changes over the last decade in common practices and it's all here in this book.. Robert J. Tewksbury said Very comprehensive. Everything you wanted to know about rigging but were afraid to ask! Well written with helpful illustrations. I would recommend before anyone tries to sling a truss or long beam on their own. There is no substitute for education of safe practices.
