A solid, short, and forthright book of poetry, the author does not completely convince "them" are found just yet. Amazon Customer After much anticipation of this work, I must say I am mostly pleased. I applaud White for speaking so candidly about certain experiences through this form of expression. While I did not feel amazed in my readings, there were times where I was whisked away into the author's world. For example: "There's a conga beat I put in that soil with my barefoot steps, running through those woods and away from the first man to hate the magic in me."; this is written simply and beautifully while creating a sense of urgency in the image of a child seeking escape into the woods, often the place we are taught as children to.
