DESCRIPTION:
Sherwin, coauthor of "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer," winner of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for biography . Skillfully weaving Einstein's revolutionary scientific achievements, his prolific political initiatives, his complex personal life, and his fascinating personality, Isaacson has transformed the transformer of the twentieth century into a beacon for the twenty-first century." --Martin J. "This is a brilliant intellectual tapestry -- and a great read
From his remarkable theory of relativity and the famous equation E=mc2 to his concept of a unified field theory, no one has contributed as much to science in the last century as Albert Einstein. Drawing on new research and reproducing documents only recently made available, Einstein reveals the process behind the work and the man behind the science: his early years and experiments in Germany, his marriages and children, his role in the development of the atomic bomb, and his involvement with civil rights groups in the United States.
Walter Isaacson is the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, an international nonprofit organization designed to promote enlightened leadership and dialogue in contemporary issues. His work has been published in the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Japan and China. He has also written Benjamin Franklin: An American Life and Kissinger: A Biography, both published by Simon & Schuster, and was the consultant for the 2008 BBC
"Einstein from birth to death" according to A. G. Sanchez. From the beginning I'll admit I'm a sucker for these Museum In A Book type of books. These books are often described as books for children. "An awe-inspiring look at one of the greatest scientific minds of the 20th Century." according to Jerry Guild. This is an outstanding book for anyone who wants to learn about Dr.Albert Einstein. It covers his whole life from childhood in 1879 until his death at 76 in 1955. It covers why he was so important for his scientific work ,and does it so that the average person can get an idea of what he accomplished;but does not delve into the depth of Mathematics and Physics involved. Curiously Fun and Highly-Informative Tactile-Table-Top scrapbook featuring the World's Best known Genius = Albert Einstein!! Book & Music thief, from HI This is a really cool concept = almost like a 'scrap-book' showcasing reproduced memorabilia highlighting Albert Einstein's momentous Life and achievements. I think it is meant as a supplement/compliment to Walter Isaacson's superlative biography from 2007 - but this unpretentious tactile-table-top condensed 3-D biography could also serve as a good 'introduction' to
