peg"A very good book, but not for beginners" according to peg2. I like this book. I've been trying to get back into my practice for the last couple of years, after a number of orthopedic rehabs. I haven't been too successful; most books are awfully rigid about the "right" way to do the postures. Then I got my hands on this book. There are still a few postures I can't do, and shouldn't do, and will never be able to do. For the rest, Mr. Kraftsow shows adaptations that are allowing me to ease back into my practice, and feel like I'm doing myself some good. If you've looked everywhere else, try this.I do have a problem with this book, though. It's not for beginners. It does g. said A very good book, but not for beginners. I like this book. GREAT RESOURCE FOR ONE ON ONE YOGA THERAPY This book is a great resource for one on one yoga therapy. I can see myself referring to it in the future quite frequently. The practices he uses are fairly easy, there are a few harder poses that your average practicioner won't be able to achieve but as long as the effort is put forward the benefits will be felt. I like the case studies presented. I did find the part on anatomy and the brain a little beyond my reach but I have no medical background so that isn't surprising. Overall this is a great book for anyone who wants to do or teach yoga therapy.. "Five Stars" according to Amazon Customer. Love this book, easy to navigate and great images to go with the descriptions.

Best of all, each step of each posture in a sequence is clearly illustrated with its own photograph
More importantly, he moves from form to function, showing how sequences of postures can alleviate ailments in each system of the body, from lower back pain to hypertension--even depression and multiple sclerosis. --Brian Bruya. There's more to yoga than stretching and bending and twisting. In Yoga for Wellness, one of America's top yoga teachers gives a clinic on the holistic nature of yoga practice, especially in regard to healing and well-being. With over a thousand photographs, Gary Kraftsow covers the basic postures, the specific movements of each posture, and how to sequence postures in a routine. In case studies of his own clients, we see how Kraftsow's holistic approach has him recommending not only posture prescriptions, but breathing exercises, sound techniques, and visualizations, not to mention such commonly neglected wisdom as eating
