DESCRIPTION:

Exactly as Titled: Dyno-Tested Combos This is one of the better, up-to-date books on B-motors out there. The author takes a neat approach to comparing apples-for-apples combinations of performance parts that a Honda enthusiast may put on the street. He dispells some myths, and points out where to look for incremental performance gains. There are dyno results for subtle part changes as well as drastic top. Niko Päivinen said Another good book from Holdener. Bought this to serve as a "generic" engine building manual, for a non-Honda application. Holdeners other book on modular Ford V8 was great for that purpose. This is similar, but probably due to smaller displacement engines, the differencies between tested parts are not that huge (well, as expected). Also, using speed (vs. rpm) on some dyno-charts is kind of pointless. The Builders Choice This book is very practical and hard to argue with the dyno results which are found throughout. It will describe with detail the before and after of many combinations. One only has to pick the HP they wish and decide turbo/nitrous/ or N/A fron the chapters for a solid well tested combination. This book leaves little room for speculation and doesn't really touch on any

The list includes a couple of Camaros, a Lotus-motored Jensen Healy, a 260 Z, a 230SL Mercedes, a 1972 911T, a blown crewcab Dualie, a pair of Hondas (one supercharged Civic Si), a Toyota Corolla, a Mercedes 450 SEL, and trio of hot motorcycles. First came the Honda 500 Interceptor, then the 600 Ninja, and finally the GSX-R750. Somewhere in all this madness came a 1965 Hipo GT and a trio of 5.0L Mustangs. After viewing

After viewing all of the elaborate horsepower hard-ware, Holdener was hooked on going fast. Somewhere in all this madness came a 1965 Hipo GT and a trio of 5.0L Mustangs.
