Hard not to feel compassion tonenotvolume Can't call this a self-help book although it will probably help readers with alcoholism. It's more of a shared journey and the writer is candid about his background and recovery. I'm not religious but hey, if it works for youthe author's journey through the stages of guilt, forgiveness and self-discovery are not self-serving so if God helped him, I salute his efforts and congratulate his success.. It is one of the books that you can't let go off, so I have been up reading it the whole night, cover to cover. The book is funny and sad at the same time. Lawrence Jackson writes brutally honest about "the dirt road" on which he has walked that makes the book even more authentic.
