Disjointed and Weak On Derrida by Stephan Hahn is an instalment in the Wadsworth Philosophers Series.Although I am somewhat familiar with Derrida I was looking for a short overview of him and/or his work. This book was very disappointing in this regard- it is characterized by poor structure, run-on sentences and empty sophistry. These qualities are undesirable at the best of times but, fatal in an introductory work. This book should have never gotten past the editors. Hahn is trying too hard to appear deep and insightful rather than actually being insightful.Avoid this one - it reads like an early draft.. "Perfect for basic, student/entry level information; the facts in a nutshell. Great book." according to Avid Reader. I found this book to be a fantastic, very informative reading for a student-truly a first rate, comprehensive and well written prose for one seeking initial detail and fact based detail. Definitely would recommend.
