"Father's Memories" according to Evie. This is a wonderful book about K & B Drug Stores. We just wish that it was larger with more photographs. My Father worked for K & B for many, many years. He greatly enjoyed this book. He worked with almost all persons mentioned in the book. He is 97 years old and this book brought back many good memories for him.. "Purpled Paradise" according to Brian Morgan. This little book is a pure delight. All Louisianians will recall the beloved drug-store chain that lined the streets of New Orleans (and her environs) from 1905 to 1997. Mr Epstein's work, filled with photographs, will give purpled pleasure to all who remember!

Besthoff (founder with Gustave Katz of Katz & Besthoff Drug Store), is a meticulous keeper of records. Besthoff III, past president and owner of K&B Drug Stores and grandson of Sydney J. This is a rare opportunity to see these photographs, which chronicle a piece of New Orleans history, during which time the store became a part of the community. Sydney J. Fondly remembered as the “purple dragon,” K&B is greatly missed by all those who passed through its purple doors and were rung up on its purple cash registers. K&B Drug Store grew from a local pharmacy with more than 50 locations in the New Orleans area to 186 stores in six states while remaining based in New Orleans. The photographs found in this book are from his personal collection, covering the 92-year life span of Katz & Besthoff and K&B Drug Stores
