DESCRIPTION:
Great book with ghreat info Brian T. Ternamian What can one say about a used book? One already knows what's in it. The only comments can be about the service of the bookseller. The '5-star' rating indicates ALL there is to know about that experience. Anything less would spark a comment. Actually inventing things to say is tedious and non-productive.. "An alternative to the model-driven company history" according to bryfs@aol.com. This is a top-notch automotive history. It details the company from its start, but rather than following along model by model, it tells the story of the people. It offers much greater insight into the people behind the cars than any other book on the subject. It's a little short on facts and figures, however, so you're best going somewhere else for that
This book introduces the people, past and present, who helped give the Jaguar its distinction, and describes everything the company has ever made. Tells how, while the parent company's vast resources have been used to upgrade quality and maintain competitiveness, the original spirit of Jaguar still shines through.. This edition maintains its position as the definitive history of a great British car. Ever since 1935 the Jaguar motor car has stood for style, performance, luxury, and value for money. Winner of the prestigious Montagu Trophy, the book covers the full history of the company, from the 1920s with William Lyons' first business venture manufacturing the Swallow sidecar, and its success as a private company under the energetic leadership of John Egan, through to 1989 when it was purchased by Ford, and on to the present day
