Jackie said Too hard to read, too hard not to read. My heart goes out to Ben, but most assuredly to Ann and Mike for having to watch. For seeing what this drug gives and then takes from the user, but only takes from those who love them, causes anyone not reaching the temporary nirvana of smack to spit in disgust.Unfortunately most don't know of the temporary ecstasy, the devil's relief of mental pain, and the physical pain of impending withdrawal without consistent use. It is often necessary to continue. The longer you use, the more desperate the pain getting clean and the longer the process. For me, the withdrawal process, the hideous mind . diary of a heroin enabler! Lheaven I agree with other reviewers that Ben is compulsively readable. I was particularly interested because I am the parent of a heroin addict who is now in recovery. I do feel for these parents who apparently know nothing about addiction, but every time they go out to"save" him I want to scream! It's not very well written but seems written from the heart. Hard to know how to rate this.. Amazon Customer said Wow. I know full well the horrors of addiction also. I am a mother of an addict. I havent lost my son but if this heroin addiction continues I feel I may. Ann wrote this book so it shall help all of us. thank you!
